After suffering first loss of season, Gophers slide to No. 14

Published Dec. 4, 2017 2:05 p.m. ET

The Minnesota Gophers dropped two spots to No. 14 in the latest AP Top 25 poll, released Monday, after losing their first game of the season last week, an 86-81 defeat at home courtesy of the Miami Hurricanes.

Minnesota rebounded with a reassuring 89-67 victory over Rutgers on Sunday.

The No. 14 position is familiar to the Gophers, as they've been slotted there in three of the five polls this season. Minnesota was ranked No. 15 in the preseason poll before moving up to No. 12 last week.

Miami, meanwhile, stayed at No. 10 despite the win over Minnesota.
