Michigan Men's Basketball Announces 2026-27 Big Ten Opponents

Jaylen Crocker-Johnson - Cleared for workouts Crocker-Johnson (foot) has been cleared for workouts this offseason, per the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Impact Crocker-Johnson played in 24 games for the Gophers as a junior, averaging 13.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists before missing the remainder of the season with a foot injury. He's reportedly back in action, however, which is great news for Minnesota as it'll have its productive forward available for most of the offseason.

Malachi Palmer - Commits to Minnesota Palmer is transferring to Minnesota, per Joe Tipton of On3.com.

Impact Palmer is joining the Gophers from Villanova, where he averaged 4.6 points and 1.7 rebounds across 33 games. He spnet the 2024 campaign with Maryland and has two years of eligibility remaining.

Cade Tyson - Hits portal with no eligibility Tyson will enter the transfer portal, although he is out of eligibility, per On3.

Impact The only way Tyson can play another season of college basketball is if he's granted a waiver by the NCAA, or if the NCAA changes its rules and implements the "five-for-five" rule or something similar before he graduates. Tyson erupted for the Gophers as a senior, averaging 19.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists on 50/41/82 shooting splits. The 6-foot-7 wing would be heavily sought-after, but there's no guarantee he can even play next season.

Kyan Evans - Transfers to Minnestoa Evans will transfer to Minnesota, per Joe Tipton of On3.com.

Impact Evans spent the 2025-26 season at North Carolina after beginning his career at Colorado State. Last season in Chapel Hill, the guard averaged 4.0 points, 1.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists across 17.6 minutes with 17 starts in 33 games. Now, the 6-foot-2 Kansas City native will take his talents to the Gophers with one season of eligibility remaining.

Malick Kordel - Lands at Minnesota Kordel will transfer to Minnesota, per Ryan James of 247Sports.

Impact Kordel spent his freshman season at Michigan, but only appeared in 14 games and contributed very sparingly on a stacked Wolverines team that won the national title. Now, he'll head to Minnesota with three more seasons of eligibility, where he'll look to make an immediate impact on the Gophers' frontcourt.

Winters Grady - Headed to The Barn Grady (lower leg) will transfer to Minnesota, per Joe Tipton of On3.com.

Impact Grady only played in nine games as a freshman with Michigan, and he sat out the final 27 games of the Wolverines' national championship run. The 6-foot-6 guard could potentially have four years of eligibility remaining if he secures a medical redshirt.

Nolan Groves - Committing to Minnesota Groves has committed to Minnesota, according to Tony Liebert of Bring Me The News.

Impact Groves played in 23 games for the Red Raiders in 2025-26, but he failed to carve out a steady role and was limited to just 5.7 minutes per contest as a true freshman. He'll look to have a bigger role in a new program but also with a whole year of experience of college hoops under his belt.
