Danny DeKeyser scored from center ice thanks to bizarre bounce off the glass

Just a few days into the new NHL season, we already have one of the stranger goals we're likely to see all year long.

During the Lightning-Red Wings opener in Tampa Bay on Thursday night, Detroit defenseman Danny DeKeyser managed to score a goal from center ice, with an assist from a crazy carom off the corner glass at Amalie Arena.

With just a few minutes left to go in the game and the Wings down by two goals, DeKeyser fired a from center ice, hoping to spark a little dump & chase in the Tampa offensive zone. What nobody expected was for the puck to hit a partition and rapidly redirect towards the Lightning net.

Understandably, goalie Ben Bishop wasn't exactly prepared for the turn of events and the puck bounced off his leg and into the net for a goal that brought the Wings to within one. Pretty much everyone in the building was stunned, but Tampa managed to hang on and finish with a 6-4 victory after an empty-netter sealed the deal.
