Titans promote LB Staples to roster, place LB Mount on IR

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) The Tennessee Titans have placed linebacker Deiontrez Mount on injured reserve and promoted linebacker Justin Staples to the roster from the practice squad.

The Titans announced the moves Saturday. They host Miami (1-3) on Sunday.

Mount tore an ACL on Wednesday at practice.

The 6-foot-4 Staples played six games with the Titans last season after being promoted from the practice squad on Nov. 20. Staples originally was signed by Cleveland as a rookie free agent in 2013, and the Titans signed him to their practice squad last September.
