No. 48 team holds pep rally before heading to Homestead

Before heading off to Homestead-Miami Speedway to battle for a record-tying seventh NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship, Jimmie Johnson spent some time pumping up his No. 48 team.

Johnson, crew chief Chad Knaus and team owner Rick Hendrick were all on-hand Wednesday at the Hendrick Motorsports campus for the special pep rally.

The six-time champ -- known for his physical fitness prowess -- has also been chasing seven by going on a number of seven-mile training runs, including a seven-mile hill repeat run early Wednesday morning.

So it's safe to say: Johnson and the No. 48 gang are beyond motivated and fired up to potentially make history once again in South Florida.
