No penalties for Martin Truex Jr. team from NASCAR

NASCAR issued its weekly post-race penalty and warning report following last Sunday's Chase for the Sprint Cup elimination race at Talladega Superspeedway -- and the big news was that there was no news involving the No. 78 Furniture Row Racing team of driver Martin Truex Jr.

Truex had said he did not think it was "a big issue" that his car twice flunked Laser Inspection Station scrutiny and had a front jack bolt confiscated by NASCAR before the running of the Hellmann's 500. And he was right. His team received only a written warning, and nothing else.

Also receiving written warnings in the Sprint Cup Series were the No. 5 team of driver Kasey Kahne (also failed LIS pre-race inspection twice); the No. 32 team (driver last Sunday was Bobby Labonte); and the No. 47 team of driver AJ Allmendinger. The cars of Labonte and Allmendinger both failed pre-race template inspection twice.

Receiving written warnings following the Fred's 250 Camping World Truck Series race were the teams of drivers Dylan Lupton, Daniel Hemric and Tyler Reddick -- all for failing heights and weights measurements twice before the race. The No. 44 team of Tommy Joe Martins received a written warning and also was docked 15 minutes of practice time prior to this weekend's race at Martinsville for failing pre-race heights and weight measurements three times.
