Another week and another Associated Press Top 25 poll has been released.

After a 2-0 week in the Atlantic Coast Conference, the North Carolina Tar Heels jumped up four spots from No. 12 to No. 8.

The Tar Heels survived a upset scare from Pittsburgh on Tuesday night, pulling off a 2-point win in the Dean Dome. But UNC’s biggest test was yet to come and it began on Sunday.

UNC opened a stretch that featured six of their final eight games this season being against ranked teams. With a water emergency in Chapel Hill, the Tar Heels game against Notre Dame scheduled for Saturday was moved to Sunday.

But it didn’t matter for the Tar Heels.

They took care of previously ranked No. 20 Notre Dame in the Greensboro Coliseum, winning the game 83-76.

The win moved them up four spots, while Notre Dame dropped out of the rankings with their fourth-straight loss.

UNC isn’t the highest-ranked team in the poll as that belongs to No. 4 Louisville who jumped up two spots with a 19-4 record. The Cardinals are on a three-game win streak in the conference.

In total, the ACC has five teams ranked. Following Louisville and UNC is No. 12 Virginia, No. 14 Florida State and No. 18 Duke.

The Tar Heels will now prepare for a showdown against hated rival Duke on Thursday night in Durham. With the Tar Heels leading the ACC by just one game, the final seven games are all crucial.
