Middle Tennessee holds off Charleston Southern 76-73

MUFRESSBORO, Tenn. (AP) — Antonio Green scored 22 points for his third straight 20-point game, Reggie Scurry added 12 points and Middle Tennessee held off Charleston Southern 76-73 on Friday night.

James Hawthorne scored 10 points for the Blue Raiders (3-1), who outshot the Buccaneers (2-2) 47 percent to 34 percent from the field and made 21 of 31 free throws.

Christian Keeling scored 29 of his 33 points in the second half to spark the Buccaneers from a 21-point deficit, and Charleston Southern closed to 76-73 on his 3-pointer with 41 seconds left, but got no closer.

Karl Gamble's 3-point play put the Blue Raiders up for good, 10-7, TJ Massenburg's dunk sparked a 9-0 run and Middle Tennessee led 45-29 at halftime after Green hit three 3-pointers.

Travis McConico and Deontaye Buskey scored 10 points apiece for Charleston Southern, which won the rebound battle 43-36.
