Markus Allen - Commits to Middle Tenn. St. Allen (transfer portal) has committed to joining Middle Tennessee State for the 2026 campaign, the team announced. .
Impact Allen will get a fresh start with his new program after playing for Mississippi State last season. The senior wide receiver totaled one catch for seven yards in just one appearance during the 2025 campaign.

Antonio Martin Jr. - Signs with Middle Tennessee State Martin has signed with Middle Tennessee State, according to the team's announcement Wednesday.
Impact Martin will transfer from Kansas State. Ideally for the running back, changing colleges from a Power Four to a Group of Six will help him improve his relatively decent 2025 output. Martin logged 19 rushing attempts for 129 yards (6.8 averaged per carry) and one touchdown.

Jekail Middlebrook - Plans to enter portal Middlebrook plans to enter the transfer portal, Hayes Fawcett of On3.com reports.
Impact Middlebrook, who is coming off a productive season, will be looking for a new program after a 3-9 campaign. He gained 1,164 yards from scrimmage and scored seven touchdowns this season in what was his breakout campaign. With two years of eligibility remaining he will likely be looking for a more prominent program to finish out his collegiate career.

Impact Jones' two touchdowns helped MTSU end the season with a win. However, the Arizona transfer barely had over 200 yards receiving in his first season with the Blue Raiders.

Myles Butler - Tallies eight receptions Butler caught eight passes for 69 yards versus NMSU on Saturday.
Impact Butler did unsung work as a steady veteran serving as a possession receiver. In his final collegiate campaign, he put up his best numbers. Butler ended up with 52 receptions and this game got him over 500 yards.

Landon Collins - Catches first TD Collins caught five passes for 81 yards and a touchdown against NMSU on Saturday.
Impact The end of this season for MTSU did have a feeling of Derek Mason saying, "Don't fire me, look at all these guys I've recruited!" Credit where it is due, a couple guys popped and the Blue Raiders won their last two games. Collins, a true freshman, scored his first career touchdown to end this campaign.

Impact The true freshman didn't touch the ball much this season, but he scored three touchdowns in his limited action. He and Jekail Middlebrook could make for an intriguing pairing in 2026.

Jekail Middlebrook - Gets over 100 total yards Middlebrook ran 20 times for 95 yards and caught one pass for 12 yards against NMSU on Saturday. He also lost a fumble.
Impact If the redshirt sophomore Middlebrook and redshirt freshman Roman Gagliano return to MTSU next season, that represents hope for the program. Both provided some much-needed spark offensively. Middlebrook ended up over 700 yards rushing and 400 yards receiving, as he was a true weapon in the passing game.

Roman Gagliano - Throws three TDs Gagliano went 24-for-42 for 260 yards and three touchdowns against NMSU on Saturday. He also ran nine times for 27 yards.
Impact It is not hyperbolic to say Gagliano may have saved head coach Derek Mason's job. MTSU was careening toward an 1-11 record with holdover QB Nicholas Vattiato under center. Mason, admittedly pressed by a Vattiato injury, turned to the redshirt freshman Gagliano. In three starts he threw for five passes, ran for over 150 yards with two rushing scores, and didn't turn the ball over. Oh, and MTSU won twice.

Impact Gagliano will get another start with starting quarterback Nicholas Vattiato (undisclosed) ruled out this week. The redshirt freshman quarterback has tossed for over 250 yards in back-to-back games along with three touchdowns and no turnovers.

In his absence, Roman Gagliano will make another start at quarterback.

Impact Cox missed last week's game with an injury, so maybe he wasn't at full speed in this one. To that end, he was only targeted four times, which is a season low for him.

Impact Redshirt freshman Gagliano has jolted the Blue Raiders' offense to life, leading one to wonder why it took so long (and a Nicholas Vattiato injury) to get him in the lineup. Even if Vattiato is ready to play next week, Gagliano should start. Derek Mason's only hope of keeping his job as head coach is showing Gagliano's promise and being able to keep him from transferring.
