Hall, Jones to transfer from Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) Arkansas forward Darious Hall and guard C.J. Jones will transfer, a blow to a program coming off its third NCAA Tournament appearance in the last four years.

Hall emerged as one of Arkansas' top defensive options midway through the season, and he played a vital role in helping the Razorbacks (23-12) reach the semifinals of the Southeastern Conference Tournament. The 6-foot-6 freshman averaged 5.1 points and 3.1 rebounds in 14.8 minutes per game, and he was expected to be one of Arkansas' top returning players next season.

Jones shot 37.1 percent on 3-pointers and averaged 6.3 points per game this season, but the 6-foot-5 sophomore struggled after Arkansas began SEC play. Coach Mike Anderson announced the departures Wednesday.

The Razorbacks are losing All-SEC seniors Jaylen Barford and Daryl Macon next season, but they will have forward Daniel Gafford - who decided to return for his sophomore season last week.
