Ibis scores 25, leads No. 25 ASU over No. 23 Cal women (Jan 05, 2018)

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) Kianna Ibis scored 26 points and No. 25 Arizona State defeated No. 23 California 80-71 on Friday night.

Jamie Ruden added 14 points and Robbi Ryan 13 while Charnea Johnson-Chapman grabbed 10 rebounds and the nation's assist-to-turnover leader, Reili Richardson, passed out a career-high 11 assists with no miscues for the Sun Devils (12-3, 3-0), winners of five in a row.

Asha Thomas scored 25 points and Kristine Anigwe, a junior from Phoenix, scored 24 points with seven rebounds for the Golden Bears (10-14, 1-2), who have lost two straight after a seven-game winning streak.

Leading 56-50, Ibis and Ruden made back-to-back baskets to open the final period for a 10-point lead.

Thomas hit a 3-pointer then added another bucket to get the Bears within six, 77-71, with 20 seconds left but those were Cal's last points.
