The upcoming UFC Fight Night event in Glasgow, Scotland on July 16 has a main event as well as a high-profile strawweight bout featuring a local favorite against a highly touted prospect.

Submission specialist Gunnar Nelson will face off with Santiago Ponzinibbio in a main event welterweight showdown while Joanne Calderwood is set to take on rising star Cynthia Calvillo in a featured bout at 115-pounds.

Nelson (16-2-1) will look to build on a recent two-fight win streak when he returns to Scotland in July. The prolific grappler has tapped out Alan Jouban and Albert Tumenov in two very impressive performances in his most recent outings.

Ponzinibbio (24-3) gets his first shot at a UFC main event when he takes on Nelson in July. The Argentinean-born striker has reeled off four straight victories with two knockings on his recent win streak.

As for the featured strawweight bout, former "Ultimate Fighter" competitor Joanne Calderwood (11-2) will fight at home for the second time in her UFC career while attempting to bounce back from a submission loss to Jessica Andrade in her last fight.

Calderwood has been considered one of the top strawweight fighters in the world since joining the UFC roster and now she'll attempt to get another big win while fighting in front of her home country fans.

As for Calvillo (5-0), she's quickly become one of the most talked about names on the UFC roster following two straight wins in two consecutive pay-per-view events. Calvillo debuted with an impressive submission over Amanda Cooper at UFC 209 before turning around and putting away Pearl Gonzalez a month later at UFC 210.

UFC Fight Night in Glasgow, Scotland takes place at the SSE Hydro on July 16 with tickets going on sale on June 2.
