No. 13 Georgetown 50, La Salle 46

Sugar Rodgers and Monica McNutt each scored 10 points and No. 13 Georgetown opened the second half with a 15-0 run to rally for a 50-46 win over La Salle on Friday night.

The Hoyas (3-0) had 11 first-half turnovers and trailed 28-18 at the break. They held the Explorers without a field for the opening 6:38 of the half and took the lead at 29-28 on a steal and layup by McNutt.

Georgetown extended the run to 20-3 and led 38-31 with 8:46 remaining. La Salle chipped away and pulled to 44-42 on Ashley Gale's 3-pointer with 3:56 remaining, but McNutt stymied the momentum with a 3-pointer on the next possession.

Gale scored 18 points and Nadia Duncan scored 12 points for the Explorers (1-3), who made only 6 of 34 3-point attempts (17.6 percent) and shot 25.5 percent overall.

The Hoyas shot 55 percent (11 for 20) in the second half after connecting on only 21.4 percent (6 for 28) of their shots before halftime.
