Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua vs. Corey Anderson joins UFC 198 lineup

Following an injury that kept him from fighting in May, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua will instead return in May at UFC 198 as he takes on former "Ultimate Fighter" winner Corey Anderson.

Rua has been out of action since last August when he won a unanimous decision over fellow Brazilian Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

The former UFC light heavyweight champion was expected to face Rashad Evans at FOX UFC Fight Night in Tampa on April 23 but a knee injury forced him to forgo the bout.

Now Rua will fight almost exactly one month later as he returns to his native Brazil for the latest card taking place there.

Anderson will look to get the biggest win of his young career as he continues to climb up the top 10 rankings.

Most recently, Anderson dealt Tom Lawlor a loss at UFC 196, which marked his third win in a row and fifth overall victory since joining the roster.

"Shogun" vs. Anderson joins a growing lineup of fights headed to the 40,000 seat stadium in Brazil where UFC 198 will be held. The main event features heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum putting his title on the line against Ohio native Stipe Miocic.
