Barnsley director Don Rowing is staying positive as the club bids to avoid relegation from the Championship.

Barnsley are currently trapped in the bottom three on goal difference and are without a win in their last five outings.

Defeat at home to Hull on Saturday could seal their fate, but Rowing is remaining positive with only two league fixtures left to play.

"We've got to stay positive," Rowing told The Star. "We can still do it, but I think defeat to Hull would make it virtually impossible to avoid going down.

"But we've been in this position before and managed to get out of jail, even when it to the last game of the season.

"Unfortunately now we're paying for our bad results up to Christmas, but our form since then has been brilliant. It would have been good enough for a play-off position."

He added: "We can't think about relegation, that's something we'd have to deal with if it happened. Personally, I'd be devastated if we got relegated, but while there's hope we'll keep fighting."
