Otman Bakkal fired PSV in front at the Philips Stadion on Sunday after 14 minutes and that looked to be enough to earn the leaders their 20th win of the season. But Rydell Poepon's left-footed strike in the third minute of stoppage time secured Sparta an unlikely 1-1 draw. Second-placed FC Twente took full advantage of the result with a 1-0 victory over Willem II. Peter Wisgerhof's goal nine minutes after the interval was all that separated the sides to move the Enschede club onto the coat-tails of PSV. Ajax consolidated third place with a 4-0 rout of struggling Vitesse Arnhem. Siem De Jong scored twice for the Amsterdam club with Luis Suarez's strike and a Paul Verhaegh own goal ensuring a comfortable win. Vitesse are now just a point ahead of third-from-bottom ADO Den Haag, who scored in stoppage time to claim a 2-2 draw at Feyenoord. The Rotterdam club had come from behind with strikes from Georginio Wijnaldum and Jon Dahl Tomasson giving them the edge after Giovanni van Bronckhorst had put through his own net early on. But Danny Buijs headed home three minutes into stoppage time to secure ADO a welcome point.
