Marseille go goalless in draw vs. Bastia

Marseille were held to a second consecutive Ligue 1 draw in the goalless contest at Bastia.

Corsica was a happy hunting ground for L'OM last season, but a side whose 100 percent start to the campaign was ended in a loss to Monaco at the start of the month dropped points for a third straight game on the back of last week's draw with Toulouse.

A point apiece seemed a fair result in a match which saw both teams strike the frame of the goal, with Bastia bossing the first half and Marseille the second.

On Friday night, Toulouse turned the game around with two goals in 12 second-half minutes as they ignored the form book to claim their first win of the season, 2-1 in St. Etienne.

With St. Etienne riding high in second place before this match and Toulouse struggling at the other end of the table, Romain Hamouma's opening goal after 18 minutes had an inevitable feeling about it.

But instead of pushing on, St. Etienne squandered a string of chances and paid the price as Martin Braithwaite leveled just after the hour mark before Issiaga Sylla struck what proved to be the winner.
