Magpies has wings clipped again
Newcastle once again failed to find the net on a U.S. tour, going down 1-0 to Orlando City at the Citrus Bowl Saturday evening.
The Magpies, who drew 0-0 with Sporting Kansas City in their opening tour game, crashed to a 75th-minute goal from Kevin Molino.
Molino swept the ball home from 10 yards following a surging run by fellow substitute Dennis Chin.
The goal capped a dominant spell from the hosts, although Haris Vuckic had an 'equaliser' harshly disallowed for offside for Newcastle shortly afterwards after good work by James Tavernier.
Fraser Forster, who was drafted into the starting XI along with Tavernier, Alan Smith and Leon Best, made some smart saves in the United goal with Lewis Neal and Molino both denied in the second half.
Alan Pardew's side next flies to Columbus to face the Crew in the final game of their tour.
