Latics pair doubtful for Blues trip

Central defender Bramble is still struggling with the hamstring injury that forced him to miss last week's defeat by Tottenham. In-form midfielder McCarthy, this week called up by the Republic of Ireland, took an ankle knock against Spurs and will be assessed. Manager Roberto Martinez otherwise has a fully-fit squad available as the Latics look to end a six-match winless run.
