MAINZ, Germany (AP) Mainz substitute Suat Serdar salvaged a 1-1 draw for his side at home to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga's Rhine-Main derby on Friday.

The visitors dominated the first half and went ahead minutes before the break when Stefan Bell deflected the ball into his own net from Marius Wolf's cross. Frankfurt had had more possession and efforts going forward to that point.

But Mainz improved after the break, registering three efforts on goal compared to just one in the first half.

Serdar equalized with around 20 minutes remaining when Frankfurt failed to properly clear a corner. Yoshinori Muto sent the ball back in for the 20-year-old midfielder to shoot past Lukas Hradecky.

Both sides remained mid-table ahead of the rest of the 10th round.
