Bayer Leverkusen has signed France youth international Axel Tape on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain’s under-19 team
6 DAYS AGO
Hugo Larsson - Suffers lower back injury Larsson (lower back) suffered an injury after making a run in Tuesday's 4-3 victory against Algeria, he told the media after the game, according to Fotbollskanalen. "I sprinted to...
Impact Larsson was forced off in the 53rd minute of Tuesday's game against Algeria due to pain in his lower back. He will likely be assessed in the coming days to determine the extent of the issue and whether he will need to miss time. That said, he will have about one month to recover before the start of pre-season with Frankfurt, where he remains one of the top choices heading into next season.
6 DAYS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Robin Koch - Extends contract Koch has extended his contract with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Impact Koch will be remaining with Frankfurt for the next few years after the defender took pen to paper Tuesday, inking a deal until 2030. This comes after starting in 40 games for the club this campaign, a mainstay in the defense. This extension should be an indication that he will remain in this spot for the next few years to come.

Season-ending preview: What to watch in German soccer this weekend

The German Cup final brings the domestic season to a close while the last available place in next season’s Bundesliga is up for grabs in relegation/promotion playoffs this weekend
MAY 22
Jean Matteo Bahoya - Play in friendly Bahoya (ankle) was included in a friendly Tuesday against FSV Geislitz, accoridng to his club.
Impact Bahoya is making his return from an ankle injury following the conclusion of the season, as he is in the starting XI for a friendly. This is good news for the midfielder as he ended the season injured, with him now likely set to be fit for the start of next season if he can avoid further issues.
MAY 20 • ROTOWIRE
Kevin Trapp - Quiet in win Trapp recorded no saves and allowed one goal in Saturday's 3-1 victory against SC Freiburg.
Impact Trapp didn't have much to do outside of the goal he conceded on the final day in the Bundesliga. The goalkeeper was the starter when fit for the most part, though rumors of a summer goalkeeping battle between him and Kaua Santos swirled. With Santos (knee) out long-term Trapp seems set to open 2025/26 as the starter.
MAY 19 • ROTOWIRE
Fares Chaibi - Finishes with assist Chaibi assisted once to go with one shot (zero on goal), eight crosses (two accurate) and three corners in Saturday's 3-1 win over SC Freiburg.
Impact Chaibi had a truly disappointing season. He was expected to take a step forward and become a real contributor in the first team, instead he finished with just one goal and three assists while seeing his minutes nearly halved. With Frankfurt favoring wingers at times throughout the season Chaibi could struggle for any sort of minutes next season.
MAY 19 • ROTOWIRE
Hugo Ekitike - Assists Saturday Ekitike assisted once to go with four shots (three on goal) and one chance created in Saturday's 3-1 win versus SC Freiburg.
Impact Ekitike was the secondary option in the attack before the departure of Omar Marmoush, but after Marmoush left Ekitike took over. He produced 15 goals and eight assists and was among the top attackers in the Bundesliga. He's been linked to clubs around Europe, though the history of Frankfurt strikers after they leave the club isn't pretty.
MAY 19 • ROTOWIRE
Ellyes Skhiri - Nets Saturday Skhiri scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) and one chance created during Saturday's 3-1 win over Freiburg.
Impact Skhiri played a large role during the 2024/25 campaign, though his offensive contributions fell to nearly nothing with his departure from a penalty-taking role. The defensive midfielder is a solid option in the middle of the park with limited upside. Rumors have swirled that he could be rotated more next season, though that would likely depend on summer editions in the middle of the park.
MAY 19 • ROTOWIRE
Ansgar Knauff - Nets in finale Knauff scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) in Saturday's 3-1 victory against SC Freiburg. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 72nd minute.
Impact Knauff scored during Saturday's win over Freiburg, his fourth goal of the campaign. 2024/25 was an interesting year for the winger, he scored four times and added a career-high five assists, though his minutes fell. As Frankfurt continue to experiment with different formations it's hard to guarantee a long-term role for Knauff, at least in the starting XI.
MAY 19 • ROTOWIRE
Rasmus Kristensen - Goal, assist in win Kristensen scored one goal and assisted once from three shots and one chance created in Saturday's 3-1 victory over SC Freiburg. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 42nd...
Impact Kristensen ended the Bundesliga campaign on a brilliant note with a goal and assist. The right-back had a mixed season in role and form, but he caught fire in the final three matches. Frankfurt have already secured a permanent move for the right-back, who was brilliant throughout his loan spell from Leeds.
MAY 19 • ROTOWIRE
Mahmoud Dahoud - Holds depth role Dahoud made just nine appearances (three starts) during his first season with Frankfurt.
Impact Dahoud was a solid depth option, scoring and assisting once each during his first campaign with Frankfurt. That said he never really established an every-day role and by the end of the season Oscar Hojlund had displaced him as a more consistent depth option. Dahoud likely faces an uphill battle for major minutes next season.
MAY 19 • ROTOWIRE
Niels Nkounkou - Role dwindles Nkounkou made just four starts (12 appearances) in the Bundesliga.
Impact Nkounkou's role essentially dwindled to nothing during his second season in the Bundesliga. The defender hardly got on the pitch and totaled just 377 minutes. New boss Dino Toppmoller clearly didn't rate him and now rumors have circulated that Nkounkou is on the way out of Frankfurt.
MAY 19 • ROTOWIRE
Nnamdi Collins - Active in depth role Collins made 24 appearances (15 starts) in the Bundesliga, contributing a single goal and assist.
Impact Collins was a depth option across the backline, playing center-back and on both flanks at times. He never really excelled in any role, with his value coming more in his ability to provider cover everywhere. Collins still has some developing to do, but Aurele Amenda will likely compete for a similar depth role next season.
MAY 19 • ROTOWIRE
Oscar Hojlund - Earns depth role Hojlund made 20 appearances (seven starts) during his first season in the Bundesliga.
Impact Hojlund was brought to Frankfurt as one for the future but actually played his way into the senior squad quickly. The midfielder never established a consistent starting role, but he did contribute in 20 matches and earned his first Bundesliga goal. If Hugo Larsson departs Frankfurt, Hojlund could step into a larger role next season.
MAY 19 • ROTOWIRE
Sepe Elye Wahi - No goals in Frankfurt Wahi failed to score in eight appearances after making a move to Frankfurt.
Impact Wahi was one of the best young attackers in Ligue 1 when he earned his move to Frankfurt, though he didn't get off to a hot start. He failed to score in the first eight matches with the club, admittedly in only 192 matches played. With Hugo Ekitike linked to multiple large clubs elsewhere in Europe, Wahi could reasonably be in for a large role next season.
MAY 19 • ROTOWIRE
Can Uzun - Efficient in Bundesliga Uzun scored four times and assists once in 20 Bundesliga appearances (six starts.)
Impact Uzun was the shining star of the 2. Bundesliga in 2023/24 and earned a move to Frankfurt. He may not have been incredible immediately, but he quickly earned some minutes and was efficient in those minutes. Uzun is still young, and has the potential to be a true breakout star for Frankfurt in the coming years.
MAY 19 • ROTOWIRE
Arthur Theate - Sold at center-back Theate made 31 starts after joining Frankfurt from Rennes.
Impact Theate was a rock-solid option at center-back throughout the campaign. Originally thought to be an option at left-back, he instead slotted into the back three, taking on a large role throughout the Bundesliga campaign. Theate won't offer much going forward from a role in the backline but he should remain a consistent starter moving forward.
MAY 19 • ROTOWIRE
Robin Koch - Top choice in defense Koch made 30 starts in the Bundesliga, scoring three times and keeping nine clean sheets.
Impact Koch's three goals and nine clean sheets were both career-highs as the defender remained among the best defenders in the Bundesliga. He quickly established himself as the top choice in the backline in his second season with Frankfurt. Koch should remain in a large role for the foreseeable future having now made a permanent move to Frankfurt.
MAY 19 • ROTOWIRE
Hugo Larsson - Solid once more Larsson scored three times and added an assist in 33 appearances (28 starts) in the Bundesliga.
Impact Larsson played a sizeable role in the Frankfurt midfield for the second straight season, though injuries cause him to miss some time in the middle of the campaign. The midfielder has been linked to a move away from the club, but if he remains in Frankfurt he'd likely be the top choice heading into next season.

Dortmund, Frankfurt clinch Champions League qualification on final day of Bundesliga

Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt have qualified for the Champions League on the last day of the Bundesliga
MAY 17
Jean Matteo Bahoya - Out with ankle problems Bahoya is out for Saturday's match against Freiburg due to an ankle injury, accoridng to his club.
Impact Bahoya is seeing the sidelines for Saturday's season finale, as the midfielder is absent due to an ankle injury he suffered this week. This is a tough miss for the midfielder, as he recently earned a starting role, only missing one start in the club's past 13 games while notching five goal contributions during that span.
MAY 17 • ROTOWIRE
Tuta - Doesn't make the call Tuta (undisclosed) is out for Saturday's match against Freiburg.
Impact Tuta was a late call but looks to have failed his testing Saturday, with the defender left off the team sheet completely. This is a tough loss for the club in their final match of the season, as he is a regular starter. That said, Nnamdi Collins sees the start in his spot.
MAY 17 • ROTOWIRE
Igor Matanovic - Sees bench spot Matanovic (illness) is on the bench for Saturday's match against Freiburg.
Impact Matanovic is on the bench after dealing with an illness last outing, shaking off the issues just in time for the match. He has only started in two of his 16 appearances this season and will be lucky to see minutes, having only played once since January.
