Ferguson: I won't quit on Posh

Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson insists he will not walk away from London Road despite the club's dire start to the season.

Posh are rooted to the bottom of the Championship table, already five points adrift of the team above them, after losing all six of their league matches.

Fans are becoming increasingly frustrated with Ferguson but he insists there will be no repeat of the scenario three years ago when he left the club after they slumped to the bottom of the Championship.

Instead Ferguson claims his relationship with chairman Darragh MacAnthony is stronger than ever and that the pair of them are continuing to plan for the future together.

"People have to understand and accept the bigger picture. I have a great relationship with the chairman based on mutual trust and respect," Ferguson told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph. "We both believe we have a successful template in place and we won't waver from it. Other clubs like Leicester have copied our method by signing players from the lower leagues and we have now modified ours slightly by trying to promote from our youth team.

"Me and the chairman are in this for the long haul. We are committed to our project and believe it will be successful in the long term. I am certainly not going anywhere. It won't be like last time."
