Baup calm over Marseille start

Marseille are paying little attention to their perfect start to the season, according to coach Elie Baup.

OM have won all five of their Ligue 1 games so far - a victory at Nancy on Sunday night the latest - and they sit at the top of the standings as a result.

Baup has overseen the dramatic change in fortunes following the mediocrity of Didier Deschamps' last season in charge, but the new man says he is not looking at the table.

"We haven't talked about the five wins," he told www.ligue1.com. "We're aware that we're picking up points which are going to be useful for us later on."

Jordan Ayew's goal secured Sunday night's 1-0 win which had not looked like coming as Andre-Pierre Gignac squandered chance after chance in front of goal.

"We played superbly in the first half and used the ball really well," Baup said.

"I'm very pleased for the players who went looking for the points and certainly didn't steal them. We deserved them."
