Here's some notes and tidbits heading into Saturday night's game at Arizona State.
As a reminder, join me (and a possible special guest) in our live game blog starting at 9 p.m. Saturday.
OK, onto the notes:
• This is the third meeting between Wisconsin and Arizona State.  The Badgers won the last matchup, 20-19 in 2010. The Sun Devils lead the series 2-1 including 1-0 in Tempe (in 1968).
• Wisconsin has started 3-0 in nine of the last 10 seasons. The only time the Badgers didn't do that? Last year, when they lost at Oregon State in their second game.
• For what it's worth, Arizona State is 8-0 against Big Ten teams in its new stadium. That includes a win over 2-11 Illinois last year. The previous time ASU played a Big Ten team was 2005. Again, take it for what it's worth.
• The Badgers are 10-3 in night games since 2009, including three of its last four. Wisconsin is 35-25 all-time in night games.
• It is quite early in the season, but neither Wisconsin (2 games) nor Arizona State (1 game) have allowed a point.
• In 25 drives by Wisconsin opponents, only four have crossed midfield with none entering the red zone.
• Wisconsin is the only FBS team to not allow a play of 20+ yards and leads the nation (among teams playing two games) with just eight plays of 10+ yards.
• Arizona State's goal was to beef up run defense. In 2012, the Sun Devils allowed 4.37 yards/rush to FBS teams and 5.69 yards/rush to 2 ranked teams. Also, in 2012 Arizona State allowed 5.33 yards/rush to FBS teams with winning records.
• James White in 1st half this season: 17 carries, 129 yards. James White in 2nd half: 16 carries, 123 yards.
• Melvin Gordon has had 2 second-half carries this year - for 9 yards and 8 yards.
• Entering this week's games, Gordon is one of 3 RBs with 3 runs of 30+ yards this season and also one of 3 RBs with 2 runs of 60+ yards.
• Corey Clement has back-to-back 100-yard rushing games. The last FBS running back to start his collegiate career with three consecutive 100-yard rushing games was P.J. Hill in 2006. Before you ask, Adrian Peterson had nine in a row.
• Joel Stave is 8-for-8 passing in the red zone this season. Last year he was 3-for-7 with 0 TD.
• Wisconsin has had seven "true" freshmen play this season. As far as I can tell, the Badgers had eight "true" freshmen combined play in the last two seasons.
• Chris Borland needs one forced fumble to tie the FBS all-time record of 14 (note: Stat only kept since 2000).
• Borland needs two tackles to pass Scott Nelson for 15th place, 16 to pass Nick Griesen for 14th place and 17 to pass Jason Doering for 13th place on UW's all-time list.
• Borland needs .5 tackles to tie and 1 to pass Anttaj Hawthorne for sixth place and 1 to tie and 1.5 to pass Dave Ahrens for fifth place on UW's all-time list.
• Borland needs 2 sacks to tie DeAndre Levy for 11th place and 2.5 to tie Matt Shaughnessy for 10th place on UW's all-time list.
• Borland's next fumble recovery will put him in a tie for third place on UW's all-time list with 7. Mark Zakula is in second with eight and Scott Erdmann is at No. 1 with nine.
• Jared Abbrederis' next receiving touchdown will be his 20th, breaking a tie with Jonathan Orr and Al Toon for third place on UW's all-time list. Tony Simmons is second with 23.
• Abbrederis needs 182 all-purpose yards to pass Billy Marek for 9th place on UW's all-time list.
• Abbrederis has had the last five 100+-yard receiving games for the Badgers and seven of the last 10 (Nick Toon with the other three).
• Abbrederis needs one punt return to tie and two to pass Ira Matthews for seventh place and three to tie and four to pass Archie Burks for sixth place on UW's all-time list.
• James White needs 157 rushing yards to pass Larry Emery for 10th place on UW's all-time list.
• White needs one rushing touchdown to pass Brent Moss for seventh place on UW's all-time list.
• Kyle French needs two field goals to tie and three to pass Steven Veith for 10th place on UW's all-time list.
• French needs three extra points pass Matt Davenport for eighth place and five to tie Vitaly Pisetsky for seventh place on UW's all-time list.
• If you missed it, here's game predictions from around the web and Jesse Temple's stories on ASU's Will Sutton, UW's kicking situation, the Badgers' defensive backs and freshman RB sensation Corey Clement.
