Wild reassign Pulkkinen to AHL

Published Dec. 14, 2016 8:32 a.m. ET

Teemu Pulkkinen's return to the NHL was short-lived.

The high-scoring forward was shipped back to the AHL on Wednesday just a day after being recalled, and didn't appear in the Wild's 3-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Claimed on waivers by the Wild from the Detroit Red Wings in October, Pulkkinen has one goal in eight NHL games, but leads the AHL's Iowa Wild in scoring with 15 points (eight goals) in 16 games.
