New Zealand at 38-1 in 9 overs at tea against India

INDORE, India (AP) New Zealand were at 38-1 in nine overs at tea on the fourth day of the third test against India after the hosts set an improbable 475-run target Tuesday.

Kane Williamson was unbeaten on 23, while Martin Guptill was batting on 8 not out at the break.

India finished their second innings at 216-3 declared in 49 overs. Cheteshwar Pujara (101 not out) scored his eighth test hundred.

The declaration came soon after Pujara reached his hundred. New Zealand got off to a bad start as Tom Latham (6) was dismissed in the second over, with Umesh Yadav (1-8) trapping him lbw. They need another 437 runs.

India has already won the three-match series with an unassailable 2-0 lead.
