INDORE, India (AP) New Zealand were at 38-1 in nine overs at tea on the fourth day of the third test against India after the hosts set an improbable 475-run target Tuesday.
Kane Williamson was unbeaten on 23, while Martin Guptill was batting on 8 not out at the break.
India finished their second innings at 216-3 declared in 49 overs. Cheteshwar Pujara (101 not out) scored his eighth test hundred.
