Lions' Bush inactive against Patriots

Running back Reggie Bush is inactive again for the Detroit Lions for their game Sunday at New England.

It will be the second straight game, and fourth out of the last six, that Bush has missed because of an ankle injury.

Bush, who practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, said earlier in the week that he expected to be ready for this game, but that apparently was wishful thinking.

The Lions, meanwhile, will have tight end Brandon Pettigrew back in the lineup. Pettigrew, the team's best blocking tight end, missed last week's game because of a foot injury that has hampered him for a while.

New England will be without defensive end Chandler Jones, who has a hip injury. Jones is second on the team in both sacks (4 1/2) and quarterback hits (seven).
