Harris ruled out for Miami spring practice
CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) -- Miami quarterback Jacory Harris will miss the Hurricanes' spring practice because of an injury to his throwing hand.
The news wasn't unexpected after Harris struggled with a balky thumb for much of the second half of last season. Miami officials made the announcement Wednesday.
Running back Graig Cooper, whose 2010 season is in doubt after a major knee injury in Miami's bowl loss to Wisconsin, is also out for the spring. Others include kicker-punter Matt Bosher, linebackers Jordan Futch and Ramon Buchanan, offensive lineman Joel Figueroa, defensive lineman Levi Paalua and running back Lee Chambers.
Defensive backs Ryan Hill and JoJo Nicholas will be limited this spring, as will defensive lineman Marcus Forston.
Miami opens spring practice Tuesday.
