Johnny Cueto will start Tuesday's National League Wild Card game for the Reds, manager Dusty Baker announced after Saturday's 8-3 loss to Pittsburgh. The defeat ensured that the Reds will play the one-game playoff on the road at PNC Park in Pittsburgh but they will have their No. 1 starter going for them.

"Cueto is the man," said Baker. "He's going Tuesday."

Mat Latos was expected to get the start but Baker said the combination of Latos' arm being a little sore and Cueto having pitched well in two starts since returning from the disabled list contributed to the decision.

Cueto is 5-2 on the season with a 2.82 ERA but has spent time on the disabled list three times this season because of lat injuries. He's made just 11 starts and thrown 60 2/3 innings.

The Pirates are scheduled to send left-hander Francisco Liriano to the mound to start the game.

No game time has been set yet for Tuesday.
