Billikens learn of NCAA seed in unlikely place
Best Buy prides itself on meeting the needs of the customer. In fact the mission statement conveys that very message, "Our formula is simple: we’re a growth company focused on better solving the unmet needs of our customers — and we rely on our employees to solve those puzzles. Thanks for stopping."
In an odd turn of events, Best Buy met the needs of the 2013 Atlantic 10 champion Saint Louis University Billikens on Sunday afternoon.
When traffic delayed the Billikens route to the airport from the Barclays Center on Sunday afternoon, the team bus stopped at a Secacus, New Jersey Best Buy to watch the NCAA Selection Show. Not exactly the worst spot to find out that your team is a No. 4 seed in the Midwest Region.
"It's not the ideal way to watch," Sophomore forward Grandy Glaze said about viewing from Best Buy. "I imagine we were the only school in the country to find out like that. It was different, but it was fun."
The Billikens will play the No. 13 seed, New Mexico State, on Thursday in San Jose.
