Rangers defenseman Dan Boyle curses out reporters at final team presser

Dan Boyle probably wrapped up his last day with the New York Rangers on Thursday.

A pending unrestricted free agent, Boyle will likely be hard up for suitors for his as the 2016-17 approaches. So, effectively, Boyle's media availability on Tuesday was his last little hurrah. And as Puck Daddy's Greg Wyshynski reports, he went down in a blaze of expletives and personal insults.

CSN Bay Area posted video of the incident. Standing before the gathered media at the Rangers practice facility, Boyle called out one writer particular: Larry Brooks of the New York Post.

"I don't want him here," Boyle said.

"You know, the feeling's mutual," Brooks responded.

"Nobody likes you," Boyle continued. "Nobody respects you. Just so you know."

Boyle's voice continued to raise as the rant went on:

Rangers staff adjourned the media session quickly thereafter.

Obviously, this is one way to go out - - emptying the clip in a vengeful, salt-and-pepper fury. That's Dan Boyle's prerogative.

And who knows? Maybe it'll spark some interest. The man's clearly still got a fire burning. Or maybe he needs a nap. You never know.

Dan is on Twitter. At least he's leaving here with the respect of his tweetmates.
