DENVER, N.C. (AP) Former Chip Ganassi Racing star Scott Pruett has a new ride for the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

The 55-year-old Pruett, who is tied with sports car great Hurley Haywood with five overall Rolex wins, will drive in the 54th annual twice-around-the-clock event with Action Express Racing. Pruett announced earlier this month that he's ending a 12-year run with Ganassi to drive Lexus's new RC F GT3 racer. The newly launched Lexus entry will only compete in a few unspecified events next year.

Pruett will share seat time in the No. 5 Daytona Prototype at Daytona with Joao Barbosa and Christian Fittipaldi. Barbosa and Fittipaldi are two-time and defending series champions. They have each won the Rolex 24 twice, accomplishing the feat together in 2014.

Team manager Gary Nelson says ''we've competed against Scott for years and we know what he brings to the table as a competitor, so it's a great feeling to have him driving for our team.''
