David Ortiz can thank Julian Edelman he doesn't have to wear Ravens jersey

David Ortiz learned a little something about Julian Edelman on Saturday night.

The New England Patriots wide receiver provided the most jaw-dropping play of his team's divisional-round victory against the Baltimore Ravens, as he took a backward pass from Tom Brady and fired a perfect ball to downfield to Danny Amendola for a 51-yard touchdown.

It's widely known that Edelman used to play quarterback during his college days at Kent State, but it appears that Big Papi was unaware of that tidbit of information. The Boston Red Sox slugger was happily surprised to learn that, though, comparing Edelman's arm to that of Baltimore Orioles outfielder Adam Jones.

The two also made a wager on the big matchup with the loser donating $5,000 to the winner's charity. So not only will Ortiz's charity get a nice contribution, but he also won't have to fulfill the other part of the bet. Had the Ravens won, Ortiz would have had to sport a Terrell Suggs jersey, but instead Jones will have to rock a Brady jersey.

They might want to change that to an Edelman jersey now.
