Woods commits to three tournaments

Tiger Woods announced Tuesday he has commited to three tournaments. There were no surprises among his trio of selections.

Woods committed for the two upcoming World Golf Championships — next week's Accenture Match Play Championship and March's Cadillac Championship — as well as the Honda Classic, where he finished second last year.

That will put Woods on the course for three straight weeks, through March 10.

Woods won the Match Play in 2003, 2004 and 2008, and he was runner-up in 2000. He lost in the second round last year.

Following the Match Play event in Arizona, Woods will head to Florida for the Honda Classic, Feb. 28-March 3 at PGA National's Champion Course in Palm Beach Gardens. He tied for second place at last year's Honda Classic, two shots behind Rory McIlroy, after shooting a final-round 62. The Honda is something of a hometown event for Woods, who lives in nearby Jupiter.

"I'm excited to be playing in the Honda Classic again," Woods said. "It's a really good tournament, and it does a lot for the community. I like the golf course, and I came pretty close last year. It's part of a busy stretch for me, and I want to continue playing well."

The Cadillac Championship is March 7-10 at TPC Blue Monster at Doral in Florida. Woods has won the event six times — in 1999, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007. He also captured the 2005 and 2006 Ford Championship at Doral.

Last year, Tiger opened with rounds of 72-67-68, but withdrew after 11 holes in the final round because of a left leg injury. Woods felt pain in his left Achilles warming up and limped noticeably during the round. After hitting his tee shot on the 12th hole, he couldn't continue.
