WATCH: S.C. athletics releases stirring tribute in wake of flooding

With its back up against the wall, the community of Columbia, South Carolina, is taking a stand. 

A horrific flood has caused casualties, displacement, immense damage to infrastructure, and a considerable dent in the economy of the state. 

Even in the midst of this tragedy, though, South Carolinians are banding together to rebuild their collective lives.

In a video created by the official South Carolina Athletics Twitter page, footage of the harrowing ordeal is shown. Additionally displayed is the togetherness of South Carolina residents, helping out one another.

As written in the Twitter post, South Carolina residents "will move forward TOGETHER."
