AP Top 25 poll: Ole Miss drops to No. 7 with loss to LSU

Mississippi State held its grip atop the AP Top 25 poll for a third straight week, and its in-state rival took a tumble. Not a bad week to be a Bulldogs fan.

MSU, which held on to win at Kentucky 45-31, improved to 7-0 with its victory. Meanwhile, No. 3 Ole Miss lost 10-7 to No. 24 LSU and fell to No. 7 in this week's poll.

The first top 25 issued by the College Football Playoff selection committee will be released Tuesday night, so it will be interesting if that ranking swings voters in coming weeks. The pairings for the College Football Playoff will be revealed Dec. 7.
