Central Florida had four players in double figures, led by Keith Clanton's 18 points and Isaiah Sykes' 15 points as it held off NAIA St. Thomas (Fla.) 74-61 on Saturday night.

Jeffrey Remmington had 15 points and five rebounds to lead St. Thomas.

In their season opener, the Knights won despite shooting just 26 of 47 from the free-throw line and committing 20 turnovers.

UCF also played its season opener with just nine players, including only seven on scholarship.

Senior A.J. Rompza continues to be withheld pending the outcome of an NCAA investigation into the school's football and basketball recruiting practices. Senior P.J. Gaynor and juniors Marcus Jordan and Josh Crittle also set out for unrelated team rule violations.

All four players were also held out of the Knights' exhibition win last week.
