Saint Joseph's defeats Rutgers 76-70

Carl Jones scored 21 points and Langston Galloway added 20 as Saint Joseph's beat Rutgers 76-70 on Friday night for its third straight win.

Jones, who made 6 of 13 field goal attempts, scored in double figures for the sixth straight game, dating back to last season. Galloway was even hotter from the field, making 7 of 8, including 4 of 5 from 3-point range. The Hawks (3-2) shot 51 percent from the field (25 of 49).

Saint Joseph's won despite committing 17 turnovers that led to 21 Rutgers points. The Scarlet Knights (3-2) also outscored the Hawks in the paint 40-24.

Idris Hilliard added 10 points for Saint Joseph's. The Hawks led 64-63 with 3:34 to play and went on a 10-2 run to seal the win.

Mike Coburn scored 13 points and Gilvydas Biruta added 12 for Rutgers, which had a three-game winning streak snapped.
