Eric Ferguson scored 19 points and Georgia Southern defeated College of Charleston 64-58 on Saturday night.

Georgia Southern led by nine points with less than 7 minutes remaining but the Cougars pulled to within 59-57 with 2:23 to play. The Eagles finished with a 5-1 run to put the game out of reach, capped by a dunk by Cameron Baskerville with 6 seconds left.

Ben Drayton and Jelani Hewitt each added 11 points for Georgia Southern (7-11, 5-3 Southern Conference), which snapped a two-game losing streak. The Eagles shot 49.1 percent (26 of 53) from the floor and outrebounded College of Charleston 40-30.

The Cougars made only 35.7 percent (20 of 56) of their field goal attempts, including 7of 24 from 3-point range.

Antwaine Wiggins had 17points and 12 rebounds, and Andrew Lawrence added 12 points for the Cougars (12-7, 4-4), who have lost three of their past four games.
