Duquesne junior point guard Eric Evans will be out about two months with a broken right foot.

Evans, one of the Dukes' four returning starters, will have a screw surgically inserted into a metatarsal bone to stabilize the break. Evans was hurt Saturday while scrimmaging during the only preseason practice that was open to the public.

Evans, from Detroit, has played in 66 consecutive games. He averaged 10 points and 3.8 assists as Duquesne went 16-16 last season.

Duquesne opens the season Nov. 13 against Division II Bluefield State. Unless Evans recovers faster than expected, he won't return until late December.
