Booker Woodfox hits a 16-footer at the buzzer to help second-seeded Creighton hold off No. 7 Wichita State 63-62 in a Missouri Valley Conference quarterfinal game Friday. The Bluejays (26-6) extended their winning streak to 11 games, tied for the third-largest string in the nation behind Memphis (21 wins) and Weber State (12). Creighton, which has won the MVC Tournament six times in the last 10 years, advances to the semifinals for the ninth time in 11 seasons. J.T. Durley led a Wichita State comeback during which the Shockers rallied from a 22-point second-half deficit to go ahead 62-61 on a 3-pointer by Toure' Murry with nine seconds left in the game. Durley paced Wichita State (16-16) with 17 points, Graham Hatch added 12 points and Ramon Clemente had a game-high 11 rebounds for the Shockers. Kenny Lawson Jr. scored 14 points for Creighton and Antonie Young had 10. Woodfox, who was named the conference's Most Valuable Player earlier in the week, scored nine points in the first 3:19 of the second half to put Creighton up 47-25. He didn't score in the first half and missed his first five shots, but finished 7-of-14 from the field.
