Bivins leads UMass Lowell over Maine 74-62

BANGOR, Maine (AP) Antonio Bivins scored 25 points as Massachusetts-Lowell rallied in the second half to defeat Maine 74-62 on Thursday night.

Bivins made 10 of 12 shots from the floor and all five of his free-throw attempts. Chad Holley added 12 points and Akeem Williams 11. Kerry Weldon had 13 rebounds. Lowell (5-13, 4-3 America East) snapped a two-game losing streak.

Xavier Pollard scored 15 points, Kilian Cato 14, Till Gloger 12 and Troy Reid-Knight 10, while Ethan Mackey had 10 rebounds for the Black Bears (3-15, 1-5), who have lost five straight.

Lowell trailed by four at the half before Bivins tied the game with a basket with 16:39 remaining. Lowell took the lead for good at 56-54 with a pair of free throws at 5:37. Bivins' fifth dunk of the game made it 66-57 with 1:05 left. From there, the River Hawks made eight free throws to secure the win.
