Who are the newest members of the Wild, Martin Hanzal and Ryan White?

The Minnesota Wild made headlines on Sunday when they acquired Martin Hanzal and Ryan White from the Arizona Coyotes.

Get to know the Wild's newest two players before they suit up for the first time in the Xcel Energy Center's home locker room:

Martin Hanzal:

-- Drafted 17th overall by the Phoenix Coyotes in 2005 (check out that mid-2000's flow)

-- Scored his first NHL point in his debut on Oct. 4, 2007 in a game against the St. Louis Blues

-- Career stats: 10 years, 117 goals, 196 assists, 23 game-winning goals

-- He’s a leader: Hanzal has served as an alternate captain for the Coyotes since 2011-12

-- Ranks eighth all-time in Arizona Coyotes franchise history for games played (608)

-- Hanzal is coming off his best season as a pro in 2015-16. He scored 13 goals and tallied 28 assists en route to a 41-point year.

-- Received votes for the Frank J. Selke trophy (best NHL forward) in 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12.

-- Want the Wild to beat the Chicago Blackhawks this postseason? Hanzal has already done so. His overtime game-winning goal beat Chicago in Game 1 of the 2012 Western Conference quarterfinals. Phoenix went on to win the series 4-2.

-- He loves to fish. The center brought foster kids from Arizona out to a lake to teach them the basics of fishing this fall. Pick a lake, Hanzal! We have over 10,000 of them to choose from!

--  Hanzal is tough. And he showed that during, of all things, the Ice Bucket Challenge two summers ago. This video is definitely worth the watch:

-- No. 11. Hanzal wore No. 11 with Arizona for his entire career because his “name day” in the Czech Republic is Nov. 11. Sorry, Hanzal…we already have a No. 11 (CC: Zach Parise)

 

Ryan White:

-- The Wild will be White’s fourth team in his NHL career. He was a third-round draft pick by the Montreal Canadiens in 2006 and played in the organization until 2014. He played two years with the Philadelphia Flyers and was in the middle of a one-year deal with Arizona before being traded to the Wild.

-- Career stats: Eight years, 294 games played, 29 goals, 29 assists, 433 penalty minutes, 770 hits

-- He scored his first NHL goal at the Xcel Energy Center on March 20, 2011. The Canadiens beat the Wild 8-1 that game. Yikes.

-- White's greatest quality, though, is his role as an enforcer.

Martin Hanzal and Ryan White will suit up for the Wild for the first time on Monday night in their game against the Los Angeles Kings.
