Michigan completes sweep with 3-1 win over Gophers

Michigan took advantage of a pair of early goals to defeat No. 9 Minnesota 3-1 and earn a series sweep at 3M Arena at Mariucci.



Brendan Warren scored 1:13 into the contest before the Wolverines got a second goal from Josh Norris less than two minutes later.

Minnesota broke through at 15:26 of the second period as Darian Romanko netted a power play goal. Jack Ramsey and Sam Rossini collected assists on the play.

The one-goal contest was shortlived as Michigan pulled back ahead by two on the power play as Cooper Marody scored at 17:18.

Michigan outshot the Gophers 28-18 for the game.

Eric Schierhorn stopped 25 pucks for Minnesota while Hayden Lavigne made 17 stops for the Wolverines.
