A Penguins rookie scored on his first NHL shift and his family went nuts

Jake Guentzel and his family had quite the start to Thanksgiving week.

The 22-year-old Guentzel was called up from the minors to make his NHL debut for the Pens on Monday. His loved ones were on-hand for the game against the Rangers in Pittsburgh, and Jake made sure to give them a show.

It didn't take Guentzel long to announce his arrival, as he scored on his very first shift. It may not have been the prettiest of highlights, but he managed to sneak his first career shot under the pads of Antti Raanta for an early Penguins lead.

He wasn't done there, either.

Guentzel doubled down and potted another goal later in the opening period, solidifying a pretty amazing debut performance. His family was a little more subdued for the second tally; hopefully they're not getting bored of all this success already.
