Vikings done with discipline for DC Edwards after DWI charge

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 11:59 p.m. ET

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) The Minnesota Vikings have completed their discipline for defensive coordinator George Edwards, following his drunken-driving arrest this spring.

Coach Mike Zimmer said Wednesday that Edwards has fulfilled his obligations to the courts and to the team. That included ''a huge monetary commitment'' the Vikings required of him after he was pulled over May 21 in Chanhassen, a Minneapolis suburb near the team's headquarters.

The Vikings said Edwards immediately informed the team when the incident occurred. He's in his third year on the job under Zimmer.

Practice squad offensive lineman Isame Faciane was released Tuesday, a week after he was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. That happened just hours after Zimmer implored the players to behave well during their bye week and had his coaches text message the same advice.
