Report: Marshawn Lynch crotch grab will cost Seahawks 15 yards, NFL warns
Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch may have shrugged off the $20,000 fine slapped on him for making an untoward gesture during last Sunday's NFC championship game. But what if the NFL made the entire team pay in yards?
According to ProFootballTalk, an NFL officiating exec told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio that Seattle was warned the Seahawks would be penalized 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct if Lynch makes an obscene gesture at any time during Super Bowl XLIX.
So if Lynch feels the need to be handsy after a touchdown, like he did against the Green Bay Packers last Sunday, "that means they will kick off from the 20 yard line," the article was quoted as saying.
Lynch has had a history of drawing fines, and has lately taken to Twitter to protest them. But that has not stopped him from making obscene gestures during games.
But with this new warning, it seems the NFL is doing everything in its power to make sure the only thing Lynch grabs during the Super Bowl on Feb. 1 is the football.
