NFL players visit U.K. to promote 2015 games in London

Six NFL players are currently visiting the United Kingdom in an effort to promote the games to be played in London this season.

London's Wembley Stadium will host the following matchups in 2015: Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets, Week 4 (Oct. 4); Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Buffalo Bills, Week 7 (Oct. 25); and Kanas City Chiefs vs. Detroit Lions, Week 8 (Nov. 1). The Dolphins, Jaguars and Chiefs will be the "home" teams in these contests.

The player representatives from each team are as follows: Lions running back Joique Bell, Chiefs kicker Cairo Santos, Bills offensive tackle Cordy Glenn, Jets center Nick Mangold, Dolphins defensive end Olivier Vernon and Jaguars safety Sergio Brown.

The NFL International Series began in 2007, when the New York Giants beat the Miami Dolphins, 13-10, at Wembley. After years of tremendous success in London, the NFL started scheduling two extra games in the U.K. last season.

Evidence of the NFL's growing popularity across the pond is perfectly exemplified by the size of this press gathering in Ireland on Thursday.

If the NFL International Series remains a successful venture, speculation about the league establishing a permanent franchise in London will continue to swell.
