Ryan Tannehill on Dolphins' offensive struggles: 'It's ridiculous'

Published Oct. 4, 2015 2:41 p.m. ET

The Miami Dolphins fell to 1-3 on Sunday after falling to the New York Jets, 27-14. Once again, the offense sputtered and was unable to generate any momentum, with seven of the team's 14 points coming thanks to two defensive pass interference penalties on the Jets.

The Dolphins were outgained 425 to 226 in terms of total yards on offense, with just 59 yards coming on the ground. It was a poor performance all around, but the offense's struggles were particularly disappointing. Ryan Tannehill spoke about the offense after the game, and he wasn't happy to say the least.

"It's ridiculous," he said via Jeff Darlington of NFL Network. "We have playmakers. We have opportunities. We're just not getting it done."

Tannehill, himself, didn't have a great game. He completed just 43 percent of his passes with two touchdowns and two interceptions. If the Dolphins hope to turn their season around, changes will need to come on both sides of the ball.

Neither the defense nor the offense has performed up to standards. While Tannehill hasn't been the team's biggest issue, his play hasn't met the expectations of his lucrative contract -- although he's playing behind a weak offensive line.
