Johnson would have loved to play with Dolphins 'but they never called'

Despite playing his first 12 years in the NFL with the Houston Texans, Andre Johnson still has a lot of love for his hometown of Miami.

So much so that the former University of Miami star said he would have loved to play for the Miami Dolphins, but they never called in the offseason.

"I always had a dream of playing at home. I was a huge Dolphins fan. But they never called," Johnson told the Miami Herald.

Johnson, a seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, signed a three-year deal with the Indianapolis Colts in March. He will pair up with former UM teammate Frank Gore and star quarterback Andrew Luck to create a formidable offense. And despite his love for Miami, Johnson, 33, has no regrets signing with the Colts.

"I understand the business side. I have a good situation," he said.
